Houston swept the weekly honors with Stacey Williams claiming C-USA Swimmer of the Week and Azul Almazan earning Diver of the Week honors.

Swimmer of the Week
Stacey Williams (Fr. – Perth, Australia) – Houston
Williams earned first-place finishes in four events and set two new UH season event bests in last weekend’s dual-meet win over Louisiana-Monroe. She won the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:07.73, nearly six seconds ahead of the second-place finisher, and captured first place in the 200 freestyle (53.52). Williams also swam the third leg of the Cougars’ victorious 400-medley relay (4:06.18) and the opening leg of the 200 freestyle relay that posted a season-best time of 1:39.78. Her opening split of 24.98 in the 200 freestyle relay was a new personal best for her in the 50 freestyle.

Diver of the Week
Azul Almazan (Fr. –Mexico City, Mexico) – Houston
Almazan was the top diver last weekend in dual-meet action against Louisiana-Monroe. She finished first on the three-meter board with a score of 282.83, nearly 40 points ahead of the second place finisher. She capped off the day with first-place honors on the one-meter board (271.58).
