2002-03 CONFERENCE USA WOMEN’S SWIMMING AND DIVING
Swimmer of the Week Erin Irons (Jr. – Midland, Texas) – TCU Irons took home six first-place finishes and two runner-up honors in dual-meet action against Louisville and Cincinnati. Individually, the junior captured first-place honors in the backstroke with a time of 2:07.16 and finished second in the 200 freestyle (1:56.32). She was also a member of TCU’s victorious 400 medley, 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle relays.
Diver of the Week Yulia Pakhalina (Sr. – Penza, Russia.) – Houston Pakhalina swept all four diving events versus Rice and Arkansas. Against Rice, she finished more than 50 points ahead than the closet competitor on the one-meter diving board (363.38), while also posting a score of 403.65 in the three-meter diving event. Pakhalina has now won 45 of the last 46 diving events in which she has entered, while also reeling off 22 consecutive wins on the three-meter springboard.
