IRVING, Texas - All five Conference USA swimming and diving programs were in action last weekend with Houston, Rice and SMU all participating in the first league match-ups of the season. SMU took its second consecutive Conference USA Swimmer of the Week as Petra Klosova claimed the weekly honor after taking first place in all seven events that she competed in last weekend. This week's C-USA Diver of the Week award went to reining Freshman Diver of the Year Anastasia Pozdniakova of Houston.

SWIMMER of the Week (10/31)
PETRA KLOSOVA - SMU
So., Koprovince, Czech Republic (Masarykoro Gymnasium)

Klosova took first place in all seven events that she competed in last weekend as she help guide the Mustangs to three wins. Against Rice on Friday, she clocked in at 56.93 as the first leg of the first-place 400 medley relay and the relay touched the wall for a time of 3:54.48. The sophomore out-touched her opponents in the 50 free with a time of 23.62 and then turned around in the very next event (100 free) and posted a NCAA provisional standard time. In the 100 free, she notched the NCAA automatic time and another first-place with a time of 50.89. Klosova ended the night as the fourth leg of the 400 free relay as the relay team took first-place with a time of 3:27.35. On Saturday, the Mustangs competed in a tri-meet against Houston and No. 25 Oregon State. As the lead-off leg in the 200 medley relay, Klosova clocked her split at 27.05 and the relay team combined for a first-place time of 1:45.39. She finished first the 50 free with a time of 23.40 and then notched another title in the 100 free with a time of 50.63 to close out her dominant weekend.

DIVER of the Week (10/31)
ANASTASIA POZDNIAKOVA - Houston
So., Elektrostal, Russia (Secondary General Education School No. 16)

Pozdniakova helped lead the Cougars in their tri-meet against nationally ranked SMU and Oregon State. The sophomore swept both diving events and was the only diver to crack 300 points in either event against No. 8 SMU and No. 25 Oregon State. The reining C-USA Freshman Diver of the Year won the 3-meter diving competition with 316.58 points and earned a similar finish on the 1-meter board with 328.73 points.

WEEKLY RELEASE
The Conference USA media relations staff will produce a weekly release each Tuesday throughout the season, including Athlete of the Week selections and updated standings. Complete league statistics will be updated daily throughout the season via the conference web site.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Conference USA will name an Swimmer and Diver of the week throughout the regular season. The Athlete of the Week awards are selected by the C-USA media relations department and announced every Tuesday throughout the season.

OTHER NOTABLE PERFORMANCES (10/24- 10-30)
SZINTIA SZANTO - Houston

Szanto claimed a first-place finish and two second-place finishes against No. 8 SMU and No. 25 Oregon State. She won the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:04.26, the third-fastest time in UH history in that event and earned a second-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:02.42. Szanto also posted another second-place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke with a clocking of 2:18.44, the third-fastest time in UH history in that event.

MEGAN PULASKI - East Carolina
Pulaski won all four of her individual events over the weekend as ECU went 2-0. She posted the second-fastest 1000-yard free time in school history with a mark of 10:15.35 and also posted a season-best time in the 500 free.

CHRISTIE ICENHOWER - East Carolina
Icenhower set the ECU record on the one-meter board (10 dives) with a score of 391.28 on Friday. She also placed first on the one-meter against Towson and posted the highest score on the three-meter board.

LAUREN FORD - Marshall
Ford set a pair of new lifetime bests in the 200-yard backstroke and 200-yard butterfly in the win over Youngstown State. She touched the wall in 2:13.13 in the fly and 2:27.82 in the breast.

SIOBHAN SCHUURMAN - Marshall
Schuurman won the three-meter boards for the second-straight meet with a score of 231.38. She later finished second in the one-meter boards with a score of 186.60.

KRISTIN SCHILD - SMU
Schild competed against Houston and No. 25 Oregon State and took third-place in the three-meter diving event with a score of 267.83. Later in the meet, she notched another third-place finish in the one-meter with a mark of 241.35.
