IRVING, Texas - SMU takes its second consecutive Conference USA Swimmer of the Week as Petra Klosova claims the weekly honor after tooing first place in all seven events that she competed in last weekend. The sophomore helped guide the Mustangs to three wins, including league wins over Houston and Rice. This week's C-USA Diver of the Week award goes to reining Freshman Diver of the Year Anastasia Pozdniakova of Houston. Pozdniakova swept both diving events against No. 8 SMU and No. 25 Oregon State.

PETRA KLOSOVA - SMU

Klosova took first place in all seven events that she competed in last weekend as she help guide the Mustangs to three wins. Against Rice on Friday, she clocked in at 56.93 as the first leg of the first-place 400 medley relay and the relay touched the wall for a time of 3:54.48. The sophomore out-touched her opponents in the 50 free with a time of 23.62 and then turned around in the very next event (100 free) and posted a NCAA provisional standard time. In the 100 free, she notched the NCAA automatic time and another first-place with a time of 50.89. Klosova ended the night as the fourth leg of the 400 free relay as the relay team took first-place with a time of 3:27.35. On Saturday, the Mustangs competed in a tri-meet against Houston and No. 25 Oregon State. As the lead-off leg in the 200 medley relay, Klosova clocked her split at 27.05 and the relay team combined for a first-place time of 1:45.39. She finished first the 50 free with a time of 23.40 and then notched another title in the 100 free with a time of 50.63 to close out her dominant weekend.

ANASTASIA POZDNIAKOVA - Houston

Pozdniakova helped lead the Cougars in their tri-meet against nationally ranked SMU and Oregon State. The sophomore swept both diving events and was the only diver to crack 300 points in either event against No. 8 SMU and No. 25 Oregon State. The reining C-USA Freshman Diver of the Year won the 3-meter diving competition with 316.58 points and earned a similar finish on the 1-meter board with 328.73 points.
