ECU Swimmers Coast To Victory Over Davidson
Davidson, NC-The East Carolina swimming and dive teams rolled over Davidson, making both the men's and women's team undefeated on the season at 3-0. The men downed Davidson 129-80, while the women won 131-96.
The Pirates proved the youth can dominate as freshmen Martha Snead, Lara Fuller, Diane Parker and Morgan Gerek swept the women's 400 medley relay (4:00.08). On the men's side, sophomore William Powell, juniors Stephen Parsons and Chris Miller teamed up with the experience of senior Josh LePree to take first in the 400 medley.
Senior Courtney Foster (53:22) took first in the women's 100-yard free stroke. Senior Julie Brenegan (10:46.63) won the women's 1000-yard free stroke, while Walker (9:38.23) won the men's version. Powell (53:40) earned first in the men's 100-yard back stroke, and senior Amy Hendrick (59:03) did the same for the women's team.
"We dominated this match," said Head Coach Rick Kobe. "We swam very, very well, winning 25 of 26 events. This puts us exactly where we need to be heading into the meeting with N.C State next week."
The Pirates take on in state rival N.C State next week in Raleigh at 4:00 p.m.
