TCU Swimming Drops Season-Opener to Texas A&M

FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU women's swimming team fell to in-state rival Texas A&M, 162-109, Thursday night at the Rickel Center.

School record-holders Jamie MacCurdy (Plano, Texas/Plano Senior), Jamie Robinson (Greeley, Colo./Central) and Erin Irons (Midland, Texas/Midland) all claimed victories. Leading the way was Robinson, who earned wins in both the 100- and 200-yard breastroke.

"I'm pleased with our team today," TCU head coach Richard Sybesma said. "We competed very well against a top-notch team. Hopefully it is just a preview of many more good things to come."

TCU returns to action next Friday, November 3 versus local-rival North Texas. The meet is slated for 7 p.m. at the Rickel Center.
