Saint Louis' Meredith Grass earned C-USA Swimmer of the Week, while Houston's Azul Almazan claimed her second consecutive Diver of the Week honor.
2003-04 CONFERENCE USA WOMEN’S SWIMMING AND DIVING
Swimmer of the Week Meredith Grass (Fr. – Knoxville, Tenn.) – Saint Louis Grass won three out of four races last week while helping the Billikens to victories over Western Illinois and Butler. She set a school record in the 1,650-yard freestyle against Butler with a time of 17:39.36, while also finishing first in the 400 IM. She claimed first-place finishes in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:11.87, just eight-tenths of a second off the school record. Diver of the Week
Azul Almazan (So. – Mexico City, Mexico) – Houston Almazan was the Cougars’ leading diver in a tri-meet against Texas and Northern Arizona last weekend. She captured first place on the three-meter springboard with a mark of 281.93 points, while also placing third on the one-meter board (261.40). She has won three of the four diving events this season and has won two straight three-meter titles.
