C-USA Women's Swimming and Diving Championship - Day Two

    In the second day of competition at the C-USA Women's Swimming and Diving Championship, East Carolina has taken the lead with a team score of 498 on Monday, Feb. 18 at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis. Cincinnati (492)stands in second place, followed by TCU (449), Houston (384), Louisville (269) and Saint Louis (189). On the men's side, TCU remains in first place with a commanding lead of 642.50 points, followed by East Carolina (562), Cincinnati (411.50), Louisville (254) and Saint Louis (231).

    INDIANAPOLIS - East Carolina's Diane Parker captured the 100 breaststroke title and swam the second leg of the Pirates' victorious 200-yard medley to move East Carolina into first place with 498 points in the second day of competition at the C-USA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships on Monday, Feb. 18 at the IU Natatorium. Cincinnati (492) stands in second place, followed by TCU (449), Houston (384), Louisville (269) and Saint Louis (189).

    On the men's side, TCU remains in first place with 642.50 points, followed by East Carolina (562), Cincinnati (411.50), Louisville (254) and Saint Louis (231).

    Parker posted a C-USA record time of 1:03.46 in the 100 breaststroke, while TCU's Jamie Robinson touched second with a time of 1:04.31. Parker also claimed second place in the 100 fly (55.31), behind Cincinnati's Marien de Jong, who earned her second individual title of the meet with a time of 55.07.

    After placing second in Sunday night's 200 IM, TCU's Jamie MacCurdy earned her first C-USA title in the 400 IM with a time of 4:23.91. TCU also claimed the 100 backstroke event as Maria Schenke finished first (56.89).

    Cincinnati wrapped up the second day of competition, by finishing first in the 800 freestyle relay. Oberg with teammates Tori Livingston, Shauna Conrad and Jenny Ellis posted a C-USA record time of 7:30.24.

    On the men's side, TCU opened the meet with another relay win. The team of Aaron Ewert, Scott Adkins, Aaron McLachlan and Dana Kizer captured the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:30.77.

    In the 100 backstroke event , TCU swept the top three spots as Ewert finished first (49.60), followed by Craig Chapman (50.68) and Mitch Loper (51.55).

    Cincinnati's Ryan McNally touched first in the 100 butterfly, while UC's Scott Davison posted a time of 3:56.35 in the 400 IM.

    In diving, Houston's Yulia Pakhalina captured the three-meter title with a C-USA record score of 704.05. Louisville's Sean Wilkinson captured the men's three-meter springboard event, after posting a season-best 337.45.

    The C-USA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships and C-USA Men's Invitational resumes on Tuesday with the preliminaries beginning at 9 a.m. (CST).
