    Swimmer of the Week (Jan. 18)
    Saint Louis' Megan Capellupo was named Conference USA Swimmer of the Week following an impressive performance against Western Illinois on Jan. 15 at the Simon Recreation Center. Capellupo swam the fastest 200-yard breaststroke in Billiken history and in C-USA this season en route to SLU posting a 143-93 win over the Leathernecks.

    Capellupo registered two individual firsts and helped her 400-yard medley relay team to a victory against Western Illinois. The senior's 200-yard breaststroke time of 2:16.76 lowered the school record by nearly three seconds and was below the B Standard for the NCAA Championships. Capellupo's mark was also 0.46 seconds off of the C-USA 200-yard breaststroke record. In addition to the 200-yard breast, she also won the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:10.61..

    Diver of the Week (Jan. 18)
    Anna Kiess led Houston in a tri-meet last weekend against North Texas and future Conference USA school SMU. Kiess was the only diver to surpass the 300-point mark in the one-meter competition en route to tabbing her fourth 2004 C-USA weekly accolade.

    2004 C-USA Freshman Diver of the Year Kiess won the one-meter springboard on Jan. 14 in Denton, Texas, with 300.15 points. The sophomore also finished third in the three-meter competition with a score of 292.55. Kiess, along with teammate Azul Almanzan, dominated the diving events to help lead UH to a split against host North Texas and SMU in the Student Recreation Center.
