Three C-USA Schools Rank in Top 25 Poll
IRVING, Texas – Three Conference USA women’s swimming squads have earned recognition as each was named among the Top 25 Mid-Major Division I programs, as selected by CollegeSwimming.com on Dec. 20. Behind a stellar performance at the Nike Cup in late November, the East Carolina Pirates were ranked No. 1, while Tulane and Saint Louis ranked No. 17 and No. 21, respectively.

ECU broke a total of 10 school records during the Nike Cup on Nov. 18-20 at Chapel Hill, N.C. Freshman Megan Pulaski set a pair of varsity records and three freshman standards in three freestyle events. Senior Diane Parker, who was named C-USA Swimmer of the Week for the period ending Nov. 9, captured the 100-yard breaststroke competition and established a new school record in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:17.42).

Rankings are based on each team's dual meet line-up as submitted by participating teams. The December rankings are the first of three polls, which will be released throughout the season. A winter (January 24) and post-conference (March 1) poll will also be compiled and distributed by CollegeSwimming.com.

Conference USA is one of 24 conferences with “mid-major” classification. Others include: America East, Atlantic 10, Big Sky, Big South, Big West, Colonial, EISL, Horizon League, Metro Atlantic, Mid-America, Mid-Continent, Midwest, Mid-Eastern, Missouri Valley, Mountain West, Northeast, Ohio Valley, Patriot, Southern, Southland, Sun Belt, Western Athletic, and West Coast.
