Marshall Softball Adds One More With NLI
July 30, 2007 HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Marshall softball team concluded its 2008 recruiting efforts with the signing of Rachel Rillo to a National Letter of Intent for the upcoming season, head coach Shonda Stanton announced Monday. "Rachel brings character and poise to the mound and is a natural athlete who gives us another left-handed approach," Stanton said. "She rounds out a solid pitching staff and completes our roster for the upcoming season." Rillo, an Oxnard, Calif., native, was the Rio Mesa High School softball captain and MVP. Her senior season culminated with a selection to the 2007 All-Pacific View League First Team. The left handed pitcher also travels with the Southern California Pumas. Rillo is the final student-athlete added to this year's recruiting class, joining Melanie Stoehr, Kelly Nielson, Jessica Hughes and Jackie Jaegle for the upcoming season.
