Lurline Hamilton has been appointed as Conference USA’s new Coordinator of Softball Umpires, in an announcement made by C-USA senior associate commissioner Brenda Weare on Tuesday. A native of Prairieville, La., Hamilton will also take on the roll of assignor for the Sun Belt Conference beginning with the 2006 season. A graduate of Louisiana State University, she spent 34 years teaching in the East Baton Rouge Parish Schools, while also umpiring collegiate softball.

During her 20-plus years working with NCAA softball, Hamilton has developed a network of nearly 300 Division I and II umpires.
