IRVING, Texas - Four Conference USA softball players garnered CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District honors as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America. To be nominated, the student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) for his/her career.

Katie Bush of Houston and Sara Dyer of Tulsa earned All-District VI first team selections. Dyer leads the nation in doubles and doubles per game, while majoring in communications with a 3.92 GPA. She is a two-time Commissioner's Academic Medalist and a member of the Commissioner's Honor Roll. Dyer also set schools records for RBI and doubles in a season.

Bush is a two-time C-USA Academic Medal recipient after posting a 3.87 GPA in kinesiology with a focus of exercise science. This is the second consecutive season that Houston has placed a member on the first team. Bush and the Cougars will be back in action on Friday, May 18 at the Texas A&M regional in the 2007 NCAA Softball Championship after winning both the C-USA regular season and tournament titles.

Jenna Kubesch of Memphis was the C-USA representative on the All-District IV first team. It is the second year in a row the Weimar, Texas, native has earned the first team honor.

Kubesch graduated in May 2006 with a 3.94 GPA in communications and just completed her second semester in her master's program. She carries a 3.67 GPA in her graduate sport and leisure concentration and was a 2006 CoSIDA Academic District IV First Team selection.

Senior Kacie Feaster of UCF is the fourth C-USA representative, being selected to the All-District III first team. The outfielder, who held a 3.84 cumulative grade point average, recently earned her bachelor's degree in sports and fitness.

Feaster's honor marks the fourth time in program history that a Knight has earned ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District honors.

All of the division first team winners are all on the ballot for the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America teams to be voted on later this month.
