Lady Tigers Battle Saint Louis to 0-0 Draw
April 24, 2007 ST. LOUIS - Memphis ended its spring schedule with a hard fought draw against a talented Saint Louis squad, battling the Billikens to a 0-0 draw Saturday. "I was very pleased with the team effort we put together against Saint Louis," Memphis head coach Brooks Monaghan said. "We played much better than we did earlier in the day. I was especially happy with the way our midfield performed." The match looked much different then the exhibition the two squads played last August at Mike Rose when Saint Louis came away with a 4-1 victory. Memphis controlled the majority of the action Saturday, keeping the ball out of the Billikens control for virtually the entire first half. The Lady Tigers came dangerously close to scoring on several occasions as Memphis created multiple chances and even hit the cross bar on one attempt. "It was a great way to end the season," Monaghan said. "Saint Louis is a great team and playing well against them really gets out momentum going for next fall."
