IRVING, Texas - Four East Carolina women's golfers recorded top 15 finishes as the Pirates claimed their second team title in three events Tuesday afternoon at the UNCG-Starmount Forest Fall Classic. The Pirates, who set a school record with a round of 284 on Monday, carded a team total of 299 to hold on for the win. Emelie Lind held off a late charge to win the individual title with a one-under 141, carding a 71 on Tuesday and for her efforts was named Golfer of the Week.

WOMEN'S GOLFER OF THE WEEK
EMELIE LIND - East Carolina
Sr., Kungsangen, Sweden (Upplands)

Lind recorded her first collegiate tournament win with a 1-under par 141 (70-71) at the UNCG-Starmount Fall Classic. She ranked first in the field in par-5 scoring (-5), collected a tournament-best nine birdies and ranked 11th in par-4 scoring (+4). It was her third career Top 10 finish and second Top 20 placement of the season. Lind helped the Pirates capture the team title, their second team win of the season, with a score of 583. In the opening round, the Pirates (27-14-0) carded a school-record 284 and held a 15-shot advantage heading into the final round on Tuesday where they carded a 299. The weekly award is the first of Lind's career.

LARIE LYNCH - Marshall

Lynch helped Marshall to a third-place finish at the Spider Invitational hosted by Richmond. The sophomore fired rounds of 78 and 76 for a 36-hole total of 154. The score put her in a tie for 10th-place on the individual leaderboard.

LACEY JONES - SMU
Jones finished in a 15th-place tie at 220 (72-72-75) at the 2007 Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship at the Cherokee Country Club.

Abby Bools finished fifth with a 36-hole score of 144 (71-73) claiming her second top five finish and third top 20 of the season... Amber Littman (70-79=149) and Ana Maria Puche (73-76=149) claimed a share of 14th place.

MARSHALL
With rounds of 307 and 316, respectively, the Thundering Herd placed third at the Spider Invite hosted by the University of Richmond... Marshall posted a solid outing, with three golfers placing in the top 17 overall, led by sophomore Larie Lynch, who tied for 10th with a score of 154 (78, 76)... Finishing in a tie for 12th overall was junior Andrea Grier, who finished just a shot behind Lynch with a 155 (74, 81)... Rachel Halloran finished the tournament with a 156, tied for 17th in the 36-hole tournament... The team will take a week off before returning to action on October 29 for the Ross Resorts Invitational in Southern Pines, N.C.

MEMPHIS
Memphis placed fifth at the University of Missouri's Johnie Imes Invitational golf tournament Oct. 8-9... The Tigers bested their round two score by 12 strokes to move up one spot on the leaderboard... Alexa Porter (77-76-77) led the team throughout the tournament and finished in a two-way tie for eighth... Dawn-Marie Conaty (81-86-76) missed making the Top 20 by two strokes... The Tigers will travel to Greenville, S.C., to compete in Furman's Lady Paladin Invitational Oct. 19-21.

SMU
SMU had a tough final round at the 2007 Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championships at the par-71, 5,932-yard Cherokee Country Club on Sunday, posting a 310 to finish at 908 (302-296-310) in 16th place in the 17-team field... Individually, senior Lacey Jones played well, finishing in a 15th-place tie at 220 (72-72-75)... Freshman Tia Gannon (75-76-77) posted a 57th-place finish at 228... SMU will return to the links on Oct. 29 at the Las Vegas Founders Classic in Las Vegas.

SOUTHERN MISS
Southern Miss shot its lowest round of the Jeannine McHaney/Audrey Morehead Invitational October 9, by posting a 324 score to place 14th in the event... Rebecka Nilsson led the Lady Eagles with a 77 over her final 18 holes to place tied for 31st with a 239 total... Clara Viladomiu collected an 83 over her final round to place tied for 62 with a 251... The Lady Eagles return to action, Oct. 29-31, for the Gainesville Shootout II, to be held at the UF Golf Course.

TULSA
Tulsa finished final-round action Oct. 7 at the Lady Tar Heel Invitational with a round of 303 to complete the tournament in 12th place among the 18-team field... TU carded a 54-hole total of 901 at the UNC Finley Golf Course... Senior Michaela Cavener finished in fifth place after a final round 1-under par 71 as she completed the tournament with an even-par 216 total... Fellow senior Tara Goedeken shot a final round 74 and ended with a 6-over par 222 total for 19th place... TU will play next at The Landfall Tradition, October 26-28, in Wilmington, N. C.

UAB
UAB tied with Austin Peay and Drake for eighth place at the Lady Indian Classic, hosted by Arkansas State Oct. 8-9, with a two-round score of 637... The Blazers shot a low round of 315 during round one, followed by a 322 in the second round at the Jonesboro Country Club... Jaime Brabb led UAB with rounds of 78 and 76 to tie for 11th place in the individual standings with a total of 154... Christina Wentworth and Lindsay Taylor tied for the 25th position by tallying a 157, including identical first-round scores of 77 and second-round totals of 80... The Blazers final competition of the 2007 fall season will be on Nov. 5-6 when they host the UAB Fall Beach Blast in Gulf Shores, Ala.

UCF
UCF wrapped up play at the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship on Sunday as sophomore Sara Hurwitch fired her second-consecutive 73 (+2) to lead the Knights in final round action...Hurwich edged teammate Mayule Tomimbang for the best finish among the Knights... Hurwich tied for 34th with a three-day total of 223 (+10), while Tomimbang was one stroke behind at 224 (+11) to finish tied for 37th... The Knights will return to tournament action at their third-consecutive event hosted by a Southeastern Conference school when they play at the Alabama-Ann Rhodes Intercollegiate in Tuscaloosa on Oct. 26-28.

UTEP
UTEP remains in 16th place heading into Wednesday's final day of the Price's Give `Em Five Intercollegiate in Las Cruces... After shooting 319 as a team on Monday, UTEP fired a 318 on Tuesday for a two-day total of 637... Deborah Martinez is tied for 41st place (77-78-155), Ana Pastor is tied for 49th place (79-78-157) and Elizabeth Sobczak is tied for 67th place (82-79-161)... Complete results of the Give `Em Five Invite will be included in next week's notebook... The Miners will be back in action Nov. 4-5 at the Texas State Invitational in Austin, Texas.
