IRVING, Texas - Junior Kate Ackerson of SMU is the Women's Golfer of the Week. Ackerson tied for second-place at the Wolverine Invitational and shot 74-71-76 over the two-day event to finish just two shots off the lead.

Ackerson tied for second place at the 2007 Wolverine Invitational at the par-71, 6,098-yard U-M Golf Course after carding a 71 during play on Saturday. Ackerson, a native of Allen, Texas, shot 74-71-76 over the two-day event to take runner-up honors and finished just two shots behind medalist Stephany Fleet of Eastern Michigan. The weekly award is the first for Ackerson in 2007-08 and the third of her career.
