IRVING, Texas - Rice's Christoph Müller is the Conference USA Men's Tennis Player of the Month for the month of October. Müller won six of his nine singles matches during the month of October, including a run to the quarterfinals at the Wilson/ITA South Central Regional Championships. Along the way, he knocked off the No. 22 ranked player in the country.

Müller won six of his nine singles matches during the month of October, including a run to the quarterfinals at the Wilson/ITA South Central Regional Championships. Along the way, Müller knocked off top seed and No. 22 ranked Bojan Szumanski of Texas Tech 6-3, 6-3 in the Round of 16. Müller opened the month with a strong showing at the Polo Ralph Lauren Men's All-American Championships. He also won a pair of qualifying matches over opponents from LSU and North Carolina. After falling one match short of the main draw, Müller was granted a lucky loser spot in the consolation draw where he defeated No. 14 Pierre Mouillon of California 6-1, 6-4. Müller teammed with fellow German Ralph Knupfer and won four of six doubles decisions. The duo, who entered the season as C-USA highest ranked doubles pair, also made the semifinals of the Wilson/ITA South Central Regional Championships.
