BRAD SMITH - UAB
Sr., Hawthorne, Australia (Indian Hills CC)
Smith helped lead the UAB men's golf team to its first victory of the 2007 campaign, as the Blazers captured the Sam Hill Intercollegiate, held at Southern Miss on Nov. 5-6. It was the third consecutive year UAB has won the final tournament of the fall season. Smith, who entered the event leading UAB with a 71.58 per round stroke average, finished the event with an even-par 213, after carding rounds of 68-71-74. Smith's opening round of three-under par 68 matched his season-best round and was the lowest round of the fall season for the nation's 79th-best golfer, according to Golfweek.com. Likewise, his three-round mark of 213 matched his season-low round, set on two other occasions during the fall campaign. This is the second C-USA weekly honor for Smith.
