The Tulane University athletic department placed 98 student-athletes on the list of Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll members Wednesday, close to half of the student-athletes at Tulane. Thirteen Tulane student athletes were also awarded the Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Medal.

The medals are given to those C-USA student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or better. Tulane's 13 Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Medal award winners were: Tyler Kimmons (Baseball); Shane Hannabury, Steven McGinity, and Michael Purcell (Football); Corrie Gurucharri and Lauren Peek (Women's Soccer); Elizabeth Carey and Amanda Williams (Women's Swimming); Whitney Hampton,, Alysa Kociuruba, Chloe La Porte and Rebecca Noel (Women's Track & Field); and Ashley Bernards (Volleyball).

A total of 1,773 student-athletes have earned recognition to the Commissioner's Honor Roll during the 2006-07 academic year, C-USA Commissioner Britton Banowsky announced. Student-athletes named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better.

Tulane has 229 student-athletes, putting the percentage of Commissioner's Honor Roll members at 43 percent.
