Senior Ryan White ran a personal best 8:45.40 in the 3,000m as he led a UCF sweep of the 3,000m at the USF Invitational on Friday.

TAMPA, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - Led by senior Ryan White (Boynton Beach, Fla./Santaluces HS), the UCF men's cross country team captured the top six places in the 3,000-meter run at the USF Invitational on Friday night.

White took first with a time of 8:45.40 beating junior teammate and 2006 All-Conference USA honoree Dustin Hicks (Oviedo HS) by a second. Senior Brent White (Boynton Beach, Fla./Santaluces HS) finished third at 8:51.19 followed by junior captain Paul Nielsen (Oviedo HS), sophomore Daniel Conn (Ocala, Fla./Trinity Catholic HS) and junior Paul Fitzpatrick (Ocala, Fla./Vanguard HS).

All of the runners set personal bests in the event. The meet marked the beginning of the Golden Knights' non-traditional season, which will continue March 22 at Disney Invitational Lake Buena Vista, Fla.
