    C-USA ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

    Jackie Rzepecki, Houston, Sr., Buffalo, N.Y
    Rzepecki won the 3,000-meter steeplechase and provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships at the Tom Tellez Invitational over the weekend. Running the steeplechase for the first time this season, Rzepecki finished with time of 10:54.48, the fifth-fastest time in the nation this year.

    NOTING C-USA WOMEN'S OUTDOOR TRACK AND FIELD

    CHARLOTTE participated at the Adidas Raleigh Relays over the weekend. DANIELLE TAYLOR cleared 11'5.75 meters in the pole vault to finish seventh in the event. Her vault was a school record and was six inches better than the previous record. CINCINNATI hosted the Nine Way Meet last weekend and captured 17 first place marks. Senior All-American MIMI MERRILL broke the school record in the hammer thow with a toss of 175'6 to earn the individual title. This marked the second time this season Merrill has placed first in the hammer throw. DE PAUL's MEGAN GREELEY placed seventh in the javelin throw (113'26.00"), while KATIE SULLIVAN tied for fifth in the high jump (5'8.00"). The Blue Demons travel to The Big Blue Classic in Charleston, Ill. Next week. LOUISVILLE turned in a solid performance at the Nine Way Meet at Cincinnati last weekend. SHOLA KADIRI set a new school record in the hammer throw with a toss of 172'97.00 Kadiri won the shot put with a throw of 43'73.00. Distance runner ALICIA CAVENDER placed third in the 800-meters, posting her top finish of the season. MARQUETTE captured two first place finishes at the Purdue Open. Junior JENNIFER BATIE won the individual title in the 400-meters with a time of 55.59. She also finished second in the 200-meters with a time of 25.36. BATHANY HARRY claimed the title in the 5,000-meters, posting a time 17:06.99. SOUTH FLORIDA junior TARA QUINN won the women's 10,000-meters at the Adidas Raleigh Relays last week. Quinn ran the race in a time of 34.27.11. The Bulls will compete in the Texas Relays next week.
