TCU's ROSA PEREZ and Tulane's MICHAEL KOGAN are the Conference USA Players of the week for the period ending March 18.
Women -
Rosa Perez, TCU
Junior, Alicante, Spain
TCU's ROSA PEREZ is the Conference USA Player of the Week for the period ending March 17. Perez, the Horned Frogs' No. 4 singles player, went undefeated in her three matches this past week. On March 12, she defeated South Alabama's Nienke Scheltens, 6-1, 6-2. In TCU's March 15 match with No. 26 Miami, Perez overcame a one-set deficit to top Sihem Bennacer, 3-6, 6-4, 10-4, and help TCU to upset the Hurricanes, 5-2. Perez picked up her third win during TCU's 7-0 victory at Utah, as she handily defeated Cassie Kasteler, 6-2, 6-2. Perez has won her last five consecutive matches and has posted a 10-3 record for the spring season.
The native of Alicante, Spain teams with Paty Aburto to form the 30th-ranked doubles team in the country. The pair defeated No. 42 Josien Boverhof and Nienke Scheltens of South Alabama, 8-5 on March 12, then made short work of Igna DeVilliers and Sara Robbins of Miami on March 15 as they dispatched the Hurricane duo, 8-1. Perez and Aburto defeated Irini Kotoglou and Hilary Doyle of Utah, 8-4, on March 17. The TCU pair has won eleven consecutive doubles matches this spring and 21 for the year.

Tulane's MICHAEL KOGAN is the Conference USA Player of the Week for the period ending March 18. Kogan led the Green Wave to a 2-1 finish at the Blue-Gray Classic in Montgomery, Ala., this weekend. The Wave defeated No. 31 South Alabama, 4-2, and No. 56 Fresno State, 4-0, while falling to No. 8 Illinois, 4-0. Kogan, ranked No. 14 in the nation, had a straight-set win over Fresno State's Nick Fustar (6-0, 6-3), ranked No. 114 in the country. He also defeated South Alabama's Vincent Baudat (6-3, 4-5, ret.). Kogan is now 9-1 this year in singles play and 57-11 for his career. In doubles action against Illinois, Kogan and junior Victor Romero, ranked No. 14, lost their first match of the year to the No. 7 pair of Michael Calkins and Delic. The pair had 8-2 and 8-5 wins over Fresno State and South Alabama, respectively, as they are now 10-1 this season in pairs action.
