Mincer and Charlotte Teammates Win 49er Collegiate Classic

The Charlotte 49ers men's golf team took the team title at the 49er Collegiate Classic, while 49er sophomore Matt Mincer walked away with the individual championship at SkyBrook Golf Club on Tuesday afternoon.

For the second time in three rounds, Mincer shot a six-under 66 to lead the 49ers to the team championship by one stroke over UNC Greensboro (854-855). He finished the three-round event at -14 (202), finishing all three rounds under par and winning the individual title by seven strokes over Ted Gray of Marquette.

Charlotte freshman Andrew DiBitetto finished in a six-way tie for fourth place, shooting 211 (-5) overall and a 2-under 70 in the final round on Tuesday. Ty Lefler was the third Niner to finish under par in the final round to lead the title effort, shooting a 71 on the par 72, 7,028 yard course. Lefler finished tied for 43rd overall, while Ray Sheedy carded a 221 (+5) to finish in a tie for 36th.
