Butler Drops Two at Evansville
March 18, 2004 Host Evansville pounded out 24 hits and 20 runs in Wednesday's doubleheader against Butler, resulting in two disappointing defeats for the Bulldogs. The two losses for Butler result in a 4-14 overall record for the season. A fifth inning rally in the first game resulted in a homerun by Butler's Angie Johnson, but Evansville responded with 5 runs, dampening Butler's hope for a win. The final score was 1-9.
The second match-up started off promising, with a double from Lynn Hohs, but Evansville quickly responded with three runs in the bottom of the first inning. The rest of the game proved to be no easier for the Bulldogs, even though JoAnna Gonzalez and Emma Cahill each scored one run, thanks to a double by Jamie Wonderly in the fifth and final inning. Evansville clinched the win, 2-11.
