The Week Ahead: Butler takes a four-match winning streak into the Horizon League Tournament, as the No. 4 seeded Bulldogs host No. 5 seeded Valparaiso on Saturday, Nov. 3 beginning at 12:00 noon in the Butler Bowl.

Butler Soccer On The Web: Live statistics of the Bulldogs' Horizon League quarterfinal match against Valparaiso will be available on the web via Gametracker. The game can be accessed logging on to www.butlersports.com and clicking the "Gametracker" link next to the match on the calendar at the bottom of the page.

A Look At The Match-Up: Butler holds a 4-0-0 record all-time against the Crusaders, with the Bulldogs holding an 11-0 combined scoring edge in the four meetings. Butler notched its first Horizon League victory of 2007 at Valparaiso on Sept. 30, as sophomore Abbie Kaul and junior Angie Muir netted set piece goals and the Bulldog defense tallied their first shut-out of the year in a 2-0 decision.

Previewing The Bulldogs: Butler enters the weekend with a 9-8-1 overall record and a 5-3-0 mark in Horizon League play after winning its last four matches and six of its last seven. Junior midfielder Angie Muir paces the team and ranks third in the league with 26 points on 10 goals and six assists, including six scores in league play. Sophomore forwards Carrie Twyman and Lindsey Fox have been the top players up front, with Twyman netting six goals and Fox scoring three with four assists. Sophomore midfielder/defender Abbie Kaul has added a scoring threat with three goals and an assist, while sophomore midfielder Kenzie Kokta and junior forward Jenny Southard have each contributed two. Senior Annalise Larkin has been the Bulldogs' net-minder nearly all season, logging over 1,565 minutes while allowing just 1.03 goals per match, the third-best mark in the conference.

Strong To The Finish: The Bulldogs head into the Horizon League Tournament on a tear, claiming wins in their last four contests and in six of their last seven. During that seven-match span, Butler has out-scored its opponents 12-4.

Shots Fired: Not only has Butler held a significant scoring edge over its foes recently, but it has been downright dominant on shots. In their last four matches, the Bulldogs have combined to out-shoot their opponents 87-33, have notched a season-best 28 shots at Youngstown State on Oct. 26, and have topped Cleveland State by a season-high 23 shots (27-to-4) on Oct. 28.

An Upward Trend: The 2007 season has already been one of Butler's finest in recent years. The Bulldogs' nine overall wins and five league victories are the most for the program since the 2002 team went 15-6-0 overall and 5-1-0 in conference play.

Making The List: Junior midfielder Angie Muir has been one of Butler's most productive offensive players in her first three seasons with the squad. She is currently sixth on the Bulldogs' career charts with 60 career points, is tied for sixth with 16 assists and is seventh with 22 goals. Muir ranks third in the Horizon League in all three categories this season.

Next Up: A win over Valpo would advance the Bulldogs to the semifinals on Nov. 9 and pit them against the winner of the match between No. 1 Milwaukee and either No. 8 CSU or No. 9 YSU.
