Butler To Participate In Second Annual Indiana Soccer Showcase
March 17, 2004 The Butler University men's and women's soccer teams will join other schools from Indiana and the Midwest at the Second Annual Indiana Soccer Showcase at Kuntz Memorial Soccer Stadium in Indianapolis on Saturday, April 17. The one-day event, hosted by Kuntz Stadium and the Indy Parks & Recreation Dept., will feature four men's soccer matches and three women's soccer matches, beginning at 1 p.m. Butler's men will face Louisville in a 5:30 p.m., contest on the east field of Kuntz Stadium. The Butler women will play Ball State at 5:45 p.m., on the stadium's west field. The men's competition in the Showcase will begin at 1 p.m., with a match between IUPUI and the University of Indianapolis. Cincinnati will meet Evansville at 3:15 p.m., and Notre Dame will play Kentucky at 7:45 p.m. The women's action will start at 2:30 p.m., with a match between Evansville and Indianapolis. Notre Dame will face Illinois in the final match of the day, beginning at 8 p.m. The Indiana Soccer Showcase is a charitable soccer event that funds the Urban Soccer Development Program/League of Indianapolis (USDP/USDL). The USDP and USDL are mayor initiated urban youth outreach programs. For the past three years, the program has been providing clinics at various urban elementary schools and Parks for children ages 5 to 13. An all-day pass for the Indiana Soccer Showcase will be available for $5 at the gate. Children six and under will be admitted free.
