Gill Ranked 19th in Region Following Fall Season

Dec. 10, 2003

Butler men's tennis player Kevin Gill is now ranked 19th in singles in the Midwest Region of NCAA Division I, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced earlier this week. Gill, a senior, and his brother Brandon, a junior, are also ranked tenth in doubles in the region.

Last season, Kevin was named the Horizon League men's tennis "Player of the Year," with a 24-7 record at No.1 singles and a 30-8 regular season record at No.1 doubles.

Brandon was named to the All-Horizon League first team as a sophomore as the brothers helped Butler to its second consecutive NCAA Tournament berth last season by winning the Horizon League Championship.

Kevin went 12-2 in singles during the fall season, while the duo is 7-4 in doubles. The brothers qualified for the main draw of the 32-team field at the Icy Hot/ITA Men's All-American Championships in October.

Both Kevin and Brandon began their collegiate careers at Florida Gulf Coast University, where they led the Eagles to the NAIA Nationals. The brothers attended Park Tudor High School in Indianapolis.

National rankings for men's tennis will be announced in January.
