Start Times Announced for NCAA Regionals at Kentucky

May 5, 2005

The University of Kentucky has released the start times for the NCAA men's tennis regional set for May 14-15 at UK's Boone Tennis Complex in Lexington, Ky. Horizon League champion Butler will take on the 12th-seeded Wildcats Saturday (May 14) at 12 p.m. EDT (11 a.m. Indianapolis). No. 18 Florida State and No. 75 Ball State will play at 9 a.m. EDT with the two winners squaring off May 15 at 1 p.m. EDT in the regional final.

Butler (15-12) and Kentucky (20-9) also played last season in the opening round of the NCAA Championships. The Wildcats came away with a 4-0 win in a match that was much tighter than the score indicated. The winner of each site advances to the NCAA Division I Men's Tennis Championships at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Center in College Station, Texas, May 21-24.

Kentucky will also be hosting an NCAA women's regional at the Boone Tennis Complex that same weekend. The first round is set for Friday (May 13) with the regional final set for Saturday (May 14) at 3 p.m. EDT, or immediately following the conclusion of the Butler-Kentucky men's match.

Live scoring of each regional match will be available through Kentucky's Web site. A link will also be made available on www.butlersports.com.
