Butler's Brandon Gill Claims Weekly Horizon League Honor

Feb. 14, 2006

Butler senior Brandon Gill had a solid week at the No. 1 spot in Butler's line-up, earning Horizon League "Player of the Week" honors for his efforts. The recognition is for the week of Feb. 13 and was announced by the league office Monday. Gill is the first Butler men's player to be honored this season.

Gill started off the week with a convincing 6-2, 6-0 win over Xavier's Jeremy Miller. Gill also teamed with Parker Ross for a 9-8 win at No. 1 doubles in Butler's 6-1 win over the Musketeers. Against Clemson Sunday, the Indianapolis native once again paired with Ross for an 8-4 win at the top doubles spot, as Butler claimed the doubles point over the Tigers.

Butler, 4-5 on the young season, returns to action Friday at No. 15 Ohio State. The Bulldogs then return to Indianapolis to host Bradley Saturday before traveling to Vanderbilt Sunday.
