Bulldogs Rally For Exciting, 4-3, Win Over Toledo

Indianapolis, Ind. - Butler captured wins in the final four singles matches to complete a thrilling 4-3 comeback victory over Toledo at the Butler Bubble on Friday (March 30) evening. The Rockets put the Bulldogs in a 1-0 hole after claiming two doubles match wins for the opening point. Toledo then scored victories at both No. 2 and No. 4 singles to place itself just one win away from securing the team decision. The Bulldogs worked their way back into the match, as James Low scored Butler's first point with a strong 6-4, 6-0 decision at No. 1 over Jared Miller before Sandy Berry followed with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Travis Curran at No. 5. Scott Newmark brought things back to even at No. 6, rallying from a 6-3 defeat in the first set to score back-to-back 6-4 victories in the second and third sets to oust Brian Rager for the Bulldogs third point of the match. Evan West provided the winning tally at No. 3, as the senior notched the match-winner with a dominant 6-0 sweep of Josh Moran in the third set. The win moves the Bulldogs to 6-8 on the year. The Bulldogs return to action on Sunday (April 1) when they host DePaul beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the Butler Bubble. Doubles
