Gills Lead Impressive 6-1 Win Over Xavier

March 23, 2004

The Bulldogs improved to 6-5 on the spring season with a 6-1 victory over rival Xavier Tuesday in Indianapolis. Kevin Gill won 6-3, 6-1 at the No. 1 singles spot, while his brother, Brandon, won 6-2, 6-3 at the No. 2 spot. The brothers combined on an 8-3 win at the No. 1 doubles position. The Bulldogs swept the doubles point, while Andy Bartish, Mike Weaver and Evan West also posted straight-set singles victories for Butler.

Butler returns to action Wednesday against nationally-ranked Kentucky with a match in Lexington, Ky. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
