Nine Home Matches Highlight 2006 Butler Men's Soccer Schedule

Bulldogs' fall slate will include two tournaments and four Big Ten opponents

First-year men's soccer coach Kelly Findley will send his initial Butler squad against an ambitious 2006 schedule, which will include two in-season tournaments, four matches against foes from the Big Ten Conference and three contests against teams that played in the 2005 NCAA Men's Soccer Championship! The 19-match schedule features nine home contests, including dates with Big Ten/NCAA Tournament teams Ohio State and Indiana.

Butler will open the fall campaign at home with an exhibition match against the University of Indianapolis on August 18. The Bulldogs first regular season foe will be St. Mary's (Calif.) in the first round of the four-team Wright State Tournament on Friday evening, August 25. Butler also will face IPFW at the Wright State Tournament on August 31.

Ohio State will visit Butler on Wednesday, Sept. 20, while Indiana will come to Indianapolis on Tuesday, Oct. 24. The Bulldogs also will face Big Ten foes Michigan and Michigan State at the University of Michigan Tournament, Sept. 8-10.

Findley's squad will begin Horizon League play at Wright State on Sunday, Sept. 24, and the Bulldogs will visit league champ and NCAA Tournament team UW-Milwaukee on Sunday, Oct. 8. Butler's home league slate will feature matches against Cleveland State (Sept. 30), Loyola (Oct. 3), Detroit (Oct. 13) and UIC (Oct. 15).
