SEASON FINALE: Butler's men's golf squad closed out the fall season with a fifth place finish at the John Piper Intercollegiate Meet hosted by Bowling Green State University. The Bulldogs were in eighth place after the first day of competition, but moved up in the standings by shooting the fourth-best team score on the final day. Seven teams from the Horizon League were in the 11-team field, and Butler finished ahead of three of the league foes. The fall season saw Butler post a "Top Five" team finish in five different tournaments, including a team championship at the Indianapolis Invitational and a runner-up finish at the Detroit Titan Invitational.

STRONG FINISH: Sophomore Jonathan Novak (Mt. Prospect, Ill.) turned in three consistent rounds and paced the Bulldogs at the John Piper Intercollegiate Meet. Novak carded rounds of 74, 73 and 74 to place in a tie for tenth in the final individual standings. It was the first time Novak has led the Bulldogs since early September, when he finished runner-up at the Detroit Titan Invitational. Junior Jeff Chapman (Noblesville) posted rounds of 69, 76 and 79 to tie for 19th in the final individual standings. Rounding out Butler's five-man squad were junior Mitch Foss (Dunlap, Ill.), who tied for 30th at 228, junior Michael Heston (Westerville, Ohio), who tied for 44th at 235, and junior Kevin Klausing (Lima, Ohio), who tied for 49th at 236.

SCORING LEADER: Sophomore Colin Christie (Indianapolis) didn't play in the John Piper Intercollegiate Meet, but he still finished the fall season as Butler's leading scorer. Christie posted an average of 73.1 over 18 rounds, and he finished the fall campaign with 15 rounds of 75 or better. He had his best 18-hole score with a 67 in the second round at the UWGB Invitational.
