Oct. 8, 2002

Butler shot three solid rounds and wound up placing second in the 10-team Bradley Fall Invitational, held at Arrowhead Country Club on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 7-8. The Bulldogs, who were in third place after 36 holes, shot a final round 295 to move ahead of Southern Illinois and finish 10 strokes behind team champ Northern Illinois.

Senior Mitch Foss led Butler's scoring team with rounds of 74, two-under-par 70 and 73. His one-over-par score of 217 gave him a tie for third place with teammate Jonathan Novak, who was playing as a non-scoring individual, Ethan Roush of Northern Illinois and Dustin Stewart of Southern Illinois. Novak carded rounds of 72, 73 and 72.

Scott Alwes of Northern Illinois took medalist honors with rounds of 70, 71, and 66 for a nine-under-par 207, while Bradley's Andy Mickelson finished second at four-under-par 212.

Christie had the team's best 18-hole score in the tournament with an opening round, three-under-par 69.

Joining Foss, Christie, Cirimotich and Heston on Butler's scoring team was senior Brian Couzens, who tied for 50th at 240. Butler's other non-scoring individuals were sophomore Scott Luc, who tied for 31st at 231; junior Dan Neal, who wound up 53rd at 241; and senior Kevin Klausing, who came in 54th at 242.
