Butler Captures Big Four Tournament

April 9, 2003

Senior Chris Cirmotich shot a two-over-par 74 to claim individual honors and help lead Butler to the team championship at the Big Four Tournament held at Crooked Stick Golf Club in Carmel, Ind., on Tuesday, April 1. The victory was Butler's third in as many outings this spring.

Cirmotich finished two strokes ahead of teammate Mitch Foss in the runner-up position. Senior Michael Heston and junior Jonathan Novak tied for third in the meet at 77. Rounding out Butler's "Top Five" individuals was senior Jeff Chapman, who tied for fifth at 78.

Butler compiled a team score of 304 to finish 19 strokes ahead of runner-up DePauw. Wabash placed third with a final score of 335, while Hanover was fourth at 341.
