Butler's Brandon Miller Named To Academic All-District Team

Feb. 20, 2003

Butler senior Brandon Miller (New Castle) has been named to the five-player 2003 Verizon All-District V University Division Men's Basketball All-Academic Team. The District V honor squad, which represents Division I schools from Indiana, Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Ontario and Manitoba, was chosen by members of CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America).

Joining Miller on the All-District V team were Matt McCollom of Ball State, Clint Cuffle of Evansville, Greg Babcock of UW-Green Bay and Rick Rickert of Minnesota. The five players will join all-academic selections from seven other districts as nominees for the 2003 Verizon/CoSIDA Academic All-America Team, which will be announced in March.

Miller, a secondary education major, is currently the leading scorer for Butler's 19-4 Bulldogs. He's been a starter in all 23 games this season and in all 87 games of his Butler career. He leads the Bulldogs in minutes played, steals and assists, and he ranks second on the team in three-point field goals. He was named to the District V All-Academic Team, the Horizon League Academic All-Conference team and the Horizon League Academic Honor Roll last year, while also being picked to the Butler Athletic Director's Academic Honor Roll.
