DETROIT (AP) - Brandon Cotton scored 16 points to lead Detroit Mercy to a 72-59 win over Butler on Saturday.

The Titans (6-8, 3-1 Horizon League) did not allow the Bulldogs an offensive rebound until the games final minute and outrebounded Butler 43-17.

Butler (6-8, 1-3) got a team-high 15 points from Bruce Horan and 13 points and seven rebounds from Avery Sheets.

The Titans broke open a close game with a 15-4 run midway through the second half.

Butler, which hit 57 percent of its field goal attempts in the first half, was just 8-for-25 (32 percent) in the second half.

Detroit scored 28 points off its 18 offensive rebounds and hit 13 of its 25 field goal attempts in the last 20 minutes.
