Jason Jamerson Named To Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American Team

June 6, 2007

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - After putting together a strong rookie campaign as the Bulldogs' regular second basemen this past spring, Butler freshman Jason Jamerson has been named to the Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American Baseball Team, which is selected by Collegiate Baseball.

Jamerson served as the Bulldogs' starting second baseman in 37 games this year, touting a .273 batting average with 18 runs scored and 17 RBI. He finished the year with 12 multi-hit games.

He was named to the All-Horizon League Second Team as a second baseman and earned a spot on the all-league newcomer squad.

Jamerson is one of seven freshman second basemen to be named to the All-American team. He is the first Butler baseball player to receive All-American mention since Tim Blakeley earned CoSIDA Academic All-America honors in 1981.
