Baseball Adds Four More For 2008.

May 17, 2007

Indianapolis, Ind. - Butler baseball head coach Steve Farley made four additions to his 2008 recruiting class, receiving commitments from high school players Brian Bajer, Luke Duncan, Grant Fillipitch and Dan Robinson. Farley made the announcement on Thursday (May 17).

Bajer, a catcher from Oak Forest, Ill., earned all-conference and all-area recognition as a junior at Oak Forest High School. A three-year letterwinner, he played for Team Illinois in the SICA All Star Game and was invited to the Area Code Tryout. He also excelled in the classroom, earning honor roll mention all four years and was tabbed as an athletic scholar.

Duncan, a second-baseman from Greenwood, Ind., earned all-county and all-conference honors while playing at Center Grove High School. He was tabbed as his team's Gold Glove Award winner his junior year, and he was included on the all-state ballot that same year. He also earned academic honors from 2004-06 for posting a cumulative GPA over 3.6.

Fillipitch, a third-baseman and right-handed pitcher from LaGrange, Ill., was tabbed to all-area and all-conference teams at Lyons Township High School. He was a member of the state all-star team and played for a pair of state championship teams in summer ball. A team captain his senior season, he was also mentioned as an Illinois State Scholar, was a member of the National Math Honor Society and was named to the honor roll all four years.

Robinson, a first baseman from Springboro, Ohio, was a 2006 Showcase Qualifier with Morganroth Baseball. He participated in the Blue/Gray Classic in Kissimmee, Fla., where his team finished second overall. An honor roll student every semester at Springboro High School, he helped his high school squad to the 2006 sectional championship.

This latest group of players brings the Bulldogs' total recruits to eight for the 2008 season.
