Butler Lands In Regional Cross Country Rankings

Sept. 11, 2007

Butler cracked the "Top 10" of both the men's and women's regional cross country rankings released by the U. S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association on Tuesday, Sept. 11. The Bulldogs were ranked fourth in the Great Lakes Region in the men's poll and ninth in the region in the women's poll.

First-year Butler head coach Matt Roe has yet to run his full squad in a meet this season, but the Bulldogs are coming off a banner season. Butler captured both the men's and women's Horizon League championships last fall and both teams placed among the top four teams at the Great Lakes Regional meet. Butler's men went on to place 25th at the NCAA Division I Championship.

Wisconsin tops the initial men's Great Lakes Region rankings, followed by Notre Dame, Michigan State and the Bulldogs. Michigan is first in the women's rankings, followed by Wisconsin, Michigan State and Notre Dame.
