Overall Honored as Athlete of the Week

April 26, 2006

For his impressive 5000m-Mile double this weekend (14:11-4:07), Scott Overall was named Horizon League Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week. The races, at the Oregon Invitational, produced some of the fastest times in the United States this year.

The junior, who was Athlete of the Year for the indoor season, currently holds the fastest times in the league at 5000m (14:00) and 1500m (3:49). He will return to competition alongside his teammates this weekend at the Cardinal Qualifier at Stanford University.

On the women's side, the distinction went to University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee's Timeka Walker who won three events at the Benedictine Invite. The junior won the 100m, 200m, and was on the victorious 4x100m relay.
