Butler's Scott Overall To Compete At NCAA Championship

March 9, 2006

Senior Scott Overall will represent Butler University at the 2006 NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field Championship at the University of Arkansas on Friday and Saturday, March 10-11. The Butler distance ace qualified for the national meet, which will be held at the Randal Tyson Indoor Track in Fayetteville, Ark., in both the 3,000 meter run and the mile run.

Overall, who was named the Most Outstanding Performer for Running Events at the recent Horizon League Indoor Track and Field Championship, will compete in the 3,000 meter run on Saturday, March 11, at 7:35 p.m. (CDT) at the national meet. He qualified for the race with a school-record 7:56.58 performance at the Meyo Invitational in January.

The Butler runner also qualified in the mile run, with a school-record 4:00.53 effort at the Notre Dame Invitational in January, but he won't run that event at the NCAA meet.

Overall is seeded 16th in the 3,000 meter run and 17th in the mile run heading into the national meet.
