Senior Catie Scott won both the women's 50-yd. and 500-yd. freestyle races Sunday, highlighting the Butler performance as the Bulldogs hosted St. Louis and Valparaiso at Carmel, Ind. Scott's winning time of 5:16.82 in the 500-yd. freestyle was a new career best.

On the men's side, freshman Raj Duggal won the 1000-yd. freestyle with a time of 10:02.56, while Carlton Racette's time of 53.76 in the 100-yd. butterfly was good enough to win the event. Duggal finished second in the 500-yd. freestyle and Racette took second in the 200-yd. individual medley.

St. Louis won both the men's and the women's competitions, following by Valparaiso.

"Once again our lack of depth is showing," said coach Nichole Ellis. "We really swam solid races. We have worked hard and it is showing.

"We had some lifetime best times tonight by Catie Scott in the 500 Free, winning with a 5:16- this was a great swim. Karri Voskuhl, who has just come back after schoulder issues, went a 1:16 in the breastroke and this is a lifetime best time too."

Other top performances included Mary Beth Arnold's second-place finish in the 100-yd. breaststroke and Brendan Van Cleve's third-place showing in the 100-yd. backstroke. Junior Joe Krcmer went for season-best times is the 50-yd. and 100-yd. freestyles. Amanda Walter also swam season-best times in the 200-yd. and 500-yd. Freestyles.

The Bulldogs will compete in the Bill Ritter Invitational at Milwaukee, Wis., this weekend.
