EASTON, Pa. - The Bucknell men's and women's cross country teams ran at the Leopard Invitational at Lafayette on Saturday, taking second of 11 teams on the women's side and fifth of 12 teams for the men. The women finished with 75 points behind Maryland in first with 68 points. The men tallied 111 points behind Maryland in first (63), American in second (90), UConn in third (93) and St. Joseph's in fourth (108).

Concerning the women, Bucknell head coach Kevin Donner said, "We ran a controlled tempo and worked together as a group. I was very pleased with the result."

In the 6K race, freshman Sarah Moniz (Topsfield, Mass./Masconomet Regional) led the Bison women with a 12th-place finish in 21 minutes and 43 seconds. Junior Gillian Nordquist (Clarkston, Mich./Clarkston) followed in 14th (21:46.00) while senior Christine Totten (Perkasie, Pa./Pannridge) and senior Erin Cranmer-Hart (Slippery Rock, Pa./Slippery Rock Area) both ran a 21:47.00 for 15th and 16th, respectively. Rounding out the top finishers for Bucknell on the women's side were freshman Alexa Griffiths (Tamaqua, Pa./Tamaqua) in 18th (21:48.00) and junior Nicole Falcaro (Dingmans Ferry, Pa./Delaware Valley) in 19th (21:49.00).

"Our plan for our top men was to run a very controlled race and work together. We were successful through the first three miles and then the hilly second loop broke us up," said Donner, "It was nice to see the Patriot League course."

Senior Wallace Campbell (Montgomery, Ala./Montgomery Academy) led the Bison men in the 8K race, finishing 19th with a time of 26:39.00. Junior Clinton Orloski (Butler, Pa./Slippery Rock) followed in 20th (26:41.00) and sophomore Andrew Huebner (Hampton Falls, N.H./Governor Dummer Academy) finished in 26:52.00 for 24th. Rounding out the top finishers for Bucknell on the men's side were senior Andrew Corral (Bellport, N.Y./Bellport) and senior Michael Gibney (Wading River, N.Y./Shoreham Wading River) finishing in 25th (26:55.00) and 33rd (27:07.00), respectively.

The Bison are now set to prepare for the Patriot League Championships at Lafayette on Oct. 27. The Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships are scheduled for Nov. 10 at Lehigh.
