Bucknell Women's Soccer Lands League-Best 20 on PL Academic Honor Roll
Feb. 1, 2007 LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Bucknell women's soccer team saw 20 of its student-athletes earn spots on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, the league office announced on Thursday. With their total, the Bison led the PL in honor roll selections for the third consecutive year, while Army came in second with 15. To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the fall semester and be awarded a varsity letter. Two members of the Orange and Blue, seniors Shannon Curd (Westtown, N.Y./Minisink Valley) and Lauren Bayne (New Paltz, N.Y./New Paltz Central), were among a group of 12 student-athletes from the 104 on the honor roll who posted perfect GPAs in the fall semester. Curd, an education and psychology major, was named the Patriot League Women's Soccer Scholar-Athlete of the Year with a 4.0 grade-point average in the fall of 2006, while Bayne achieved a 4.0 GPA as a cell biology/biochemistry major last semester. Elsewhere around the league, Lehigh had 14 honorees, Lafayette 13, Colgate 12, American 11, Navy 10 and Holy Cross nine.
