Box Score

WEST POINT, N.Y. - Senior Corey Curnutte (Waterford, Mich./Detroit Country Day) converted a penalty kick just 1 minute, 14 seconds into play and that was all the Bucknell men's soccer team would need as it recorded a 1-0 victory over Army Saturday afternoon at Clinton Field. The Bison, who have not lost since Sept. 15, extended their unbeaten streak to seven games.

Curnutte was awarded a penalty kick after drawing a foul in the Army goal box after making contact with Black Knight defender Michael Chere. Curnutte converted the attempt for his third goal of the season. The Bison then held on for the 1-0 victory despite yielding 19 Army shots.

Bucknell goalie Joey Kuterbach (Kingwood, Texas/Kingwood) recorded his fifth shutout of the season as he made three saves. He is now tied for fourth place on the Bison career list with 15 and saw his goals-against average fall to 0.73.

Bucknell, which improved to 5-3-4 and remained undefeated in Patriot League play at 2-0-1, fired 14 shots in the contest and Army goalie A.J. Glubzinski made five saves. The Bison managed just one corner kick to six for Army, which fell to 6-5-1, 0-0-3 Patriot League. The Black Knights have now lost four matches in a row.

During its seven-match unbeaten streak, Bucknell is 5-0-2. The Bison are just one game shy of equaling their longest unbeaten stretch from last year.

Bucknell will wrap up its two-game road trip Sunday, Oct. 21, with a trip to Hamilton, N.Y., to face Colgate. Kickoff for the contest is slated for 1 p.m.
