March 11, 2005 Indianapolis, IN - The Brown women's crew team ranked third in the USRowing/Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association NCAA Division I Varsity Eight Coaches Poll. The defending national champions earned seven first place votes and 374 points total. Princeton claimed the top spot with 415 points, receiving 12 first place votes while Yale followed in second with three first place votes and 401 total points. Brown won its fifth national title in the last nine years last season, defeating second place finisher Yale by 12 points. Princeton's varsity eight won the 2004 Eastern Sprints Title.
