PROVIDENCE, RI - The Brown men's tennis team improved to 13-4 on the season with a dominating 7-0 victory over visiting Hofstra on Saturday Morning at the Pizzitola Center. Sophomore Eric Thomas (Cincinnati, OH) helped to lead the way with wins at #2 doubles and at #1 singles. Brown won all nine matches on the day, starting with an 8-3 victory by seniors Adil Shamasdin (Pickering, ONT) and Nicholas Goldberg (Albuquerque, NM) at #1 doubles. Thomas and freshman Saurabh Kohli Colaba, Mumbai, India) followed with an 8-1 win at #2 doubles, while junior Richard Moss (Johannesburg, South Africa) and freshman Michael Scherer (Potomac, MD) posted an 8-4 win at #3 doubles. In singles action, Thomas led the way with a 6-4, 6-2 win in the top spot, while junior Philip Charm (Concord, MA) picked up a 6-4, 6-1 win at #2. Moss posted a 6-2, 6-0 victory at #3, while Scherer earned a 6-2, 6-3 victory at #4. Junior Luke Tedaldi (West Newton, MA) posted a 6-2, 6-3 win at #5 singles, while freshman Scott Blumenkranz (Portola Valley, CA) earned a 6-2, 6-2 win at #6 to close out the match. Brown continues action this afternoon when it hosts Boston College at 3:00 p.m. in the indoor Pizzitola Center Courts.
