BLACKSBURG, VA - The #65 Brown men's tennis team (8-2) dropped a 4-3 decision to #48 Louisville on Saturday afternoon in a neutral-site match played at Virginia Tech. The Bears swept the doubles point, winning all three matches, but Louisville won the top four singles matches to earn the narrow, 4-3, win. The doubles point was extremely close, but the Bears were able to win the point as senior Dan Hanegby (Herzliya, Israel) and sophomore Chris Lee (Sudbury, MA) earned an 8-7 (2) win at #1 and the team of senior Eric Thomas and sophomore Basu Ratnam (Oyster Bay, NY) earned a 9-7 win at #2. Brown also won at #3, as junior Saurabh Kohli and senior Zach Pasanen (North Andover, MA) won by an 8-5 margin. Louisville won the top four singles matches in straight sets to clinch the match. Pasanen earned a 6-2, 6-2 win at #5, while Lee posted a 6-4, 6-3 win at #6 for the final 4-3 score. The Bears continue action tomorrow afternoon when they face Virginia Tech at 9:00 a.m.
