Bucciero Named Assistant Coach

David Bucciero, who has served as the assistant women's soccer coach/goalkeeper coach at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX since 1998, has been named to a similar position at Boston University.

He will assume his new position effective Monday, February 12th.

Bucciero takes over for Krista Fulton, who left the University in early December to pursue opportunities in the private sector.

During the past three years at Texas Tech, Bucciero had numerous responsibilities beyond working with the keepers. He was also the program's recruiting coordinator, and he planned organized, and directed certain fundraising projects.

He also handled the team's scheduling the past two years and organized the travel plans.

"I am very excited that David is joining our staff," said head coach Nancy Feldman. "I have talked to a number of people about his coaching qualities, and the one constant that comes through is that he is a tireless worker.

"He is driven to be a successful coach at the Division 1 level, and his goal is to be a head coach someday," continued Feldman. "This determination will help make us a better team.

"In addition, I know that I will be able to learn from him, and that will help make me a better coach," said Feldman, who pointed out that Bucciero will work with the Terrier keepers as well as work with the training of the other varsity players.

Bucciero's coaching career began in 1990 as the director of goalkeeping at the Soccer Academy in Manassas, VA. He remained there until 1998.

During this time period, he was the assistant coach for the under-15 boys' team in the Maryland Olympic Development Program during 1997-98 and was the assistant men's soccer coach/goalkeeper coach at Washington College in Chestertown, MD from 1996-98.

Then, in 1998, he moved to Texas Tech. From 2000 to the present, he has also been the Director of Coaching for the Lubbock Elite Youth soccer Club.
